BELPHEGOR Pulls Out Of 'Barge To Hell'

September 20, 2012

Austrian blackened metallers BELPHEGOR have canceled their appearance on Barge To Hell, the world's most extreme metal cruise, which will sail Monday, December 3, 2012 from Miami, Florida to Nassau, Bahamas and will not return you to the real world for five days until Friday, December 7.

Comments BELPHEGOR leader Helmuth: "I wanna hold to the March 2013 album release date and unfortunately studio terms collide with the cruise. Because of my health issues, we had to delay a lot of things during the last 12 months: tours, studio sessions, recording and so forth. We put extra creativity, extra magick — full concentration and energy into the new album to get the best result possible of our art. I hope you all understand this difficult decision for the band, to cancel and pass on this great experience. We really wish and hope that we can be a part of it in one of the next year's editions. In hell we burn!!!"

BELPHEGOR entered Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida with producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL, MORBID ANGEL, CANNIBAL CORPSE) to begin laying down its as-yet-untitled new CD for a March 2013 release via Nuclear Blast Records.

Rutan previously stated about the upcoming CD: "I am very excited to be recording and mixing the new BELPHEGOR album at Mana. After many discussions with Helmuth and hearing some clips of new material, I know that the band is very focused and determined on making a harmoniously evil extreme masterpiece. We shall make one beast of an album that the fans have come to expect from BELPHEGOR!"

BELPHEGOR's last album, "Blood Magick Necromance", was released in January 2011 in Europe and February 2011 in the U.S. via Nuclear Blast Records.
